This set comprises of the two Sovereign's Sceptres used at the coronation of British Monarchs at Westminster Abbey.

The Sovereign's Sceptre with the Cross - This sceptre was made for the coronation of Charles II in 1661, and has been used at every coronation since. It was remodelled in 1910 to accommodate the First Star of Africa, the largest diamond in the world weighing in at 530 carats.

The Sovereign's Sceptre with the Dove - This Sceptre symbolises `the Sovereign's prerogative of mercy'. A sceptre like this has been carried since the Coronation of Richard I in 1189; the dove symbolising the Holy Ghost. It was made in 1661 for the coronation of Charles II, and though it has been used at every coronation since then, it has remained almost completely unaltered.

Cast in fine english pewter and plated, enclosed in a presentation box.
