This Roman Denarius coin was crafted in silver in Rome. The facsimile coin carries the inscriptions L SESTI PRO Q/Q CAEPIO BRVTVS PRO COS, featuring an image of Libertas above a tripod, axe, and simpulum.

Information On The Coins Commissioner:

Marcus Junius Brutus held the position of Governor of Cisalpine Gaul, which is located to the south of the Alps. Though he was initially a close confidant of Emperor Julius Caesar (who led two expeditions to Britain in 55 and 54 BC), Brutus later played a pivotal role as the primary assassin in the conspiracy against Caesar in 44 BC. Following the assassination, he assumed the role of Chief Magistrate of Rome in 42 BC. However, later that same year, Brutus, along with his co-conspirator Cassius, faced defeat and met his demise at the Battle of Philippi.
