This violet flower pendant is an eye-catching and colourful statement piece of jewellery. The gold tone of the flower necklace complements the rich yellow and purple colours that have been intricately hand-enamelled on the violet flower pendant. The purple half of the flower is encrusted with two tones of purple bohemian crystals, which elevates the glamour of the pendant, without overpowering the natural beauty.
You can wear this alone as a statement piece or pair it with other items in our violet flower range for a more complete look. Why not take a look at our other birth flower jewellery, you are sure to find the perfect present for that someone special.
This is the largest, most dramatic item of our Violet February birth flower range, measuring 5cm by 4.5cm, whilst the gold plated chain measures 44cm in length with a 6cm chain extension.
Weight: 35g
Violets are one of the birth flowers for February. They are named after their blue-purple colour but can also be found in yellow, blue and cream colours. They are symbolic of virtue, modesty and humility.
Our violet flower jewellery is based on the Viola tricolour- Commonly known as heartsease, this charming wildflower was the forerunner of the garden pansy. It exhibits delightful variations in petal colouring and patterning in the many flowers carried throughout the summer.
Our inspiration came from the artwork of Caroline Maria Applebee (c.1799-1854). Unfortunately very little is known about Miss Applebee, like so many female artists of the time. She was an extremely talented amateur artist whose works went unpublished. Her paintings feature a large range of plants, including many more rare and exotic varieties of the day that would only survive under glass.
