Information On The Original Coin:
This sixpence coin was milled in silver and also had a new design for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee of the shield in Garter, known as the “withdrawn type”. It was changed to this facsimilie to avoid confusion with the half-sovereign.

Information On The Coins Commisioner:
Queen Victoria, born in 1819, succeeded her uncle, King William IV, in 1837, her father Edward Duke of Kent, William’s next brother, having died in 1820 when she was only six months old. She married her cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who was given the title of Prince Consort in 1857 and died in 1861. The Queen died in 1901 and was succeeded by her eldest son Edward VII. Her reign was the longest of any British sovereign before Queen Elizabeth II.

Product Material:
Cast from fine English lead free pewter, then given an antiqued finish.
