The Great Wave Pendant

Great wave range - one of the most recognisable images in Japanese art, The Great Wave is a woodblock print from the series ‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’ by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849).  It dates more precisely from around 1829 and depicts the mountain viewed through the hollow of an enormous wave off the coast of Kanagawa, Japan.  This range of fine jewellery comprises a necklace, brooch and earrings and recreates the essence of the wave printed on to shell mother-of-pearl and inlaid into sterling silver - a delightful, contemporary take on an iconic image from the 19th century.
