Cap of Mary of Modena

This diadem was made for Queen Mary of Modena, the second wife of King James II, to wear during the coronation procession and service before her anointing in Westminster Abbey in 1685.

The small design of the Diadem was to enable it to be worn on the high hairstyles of the period.

This miniature recreation crown is cast in fine english pewter, gold plated then adorned with Bohemian Crystals.
