Emperor Claudius is renowned for claiming credit for Britain's subjugation. Notably, he attended the triumphal parade in Colchester in 43 AD. Claudius became emperor following his nephew Caligula and was succeeded by his stepson Nero. Both Caligula and Nero are infamous for their tyrannical and cruel reigns.
