Information On The Original Coin:
The silver penny featuring Robert I, also known as Robert the Bruce, is a rarity with uncertainty regarding the mint that produced it. The inscriptions on the coin's face read ROBERTUS DEI GRA, which translates to Robert by the grace of God. This side showcases a left-facing bust of King Robert holding a spectre. On the coin's reverse, the inscription SCOTORUM REX can be found, meaning King of Scots.

Information On The Coins Commissioner:
Born in 1274 and passing away in 1329, Robert I, widely known as Robert the Bruce, was the grandson of another Robert Bruce who had laid claim to the Scottish crown following the death of Margaret of Norway in 1290. However, it was John Baliol who took the throne, as decided by Edward I of England's arbitration, only to be dethroned in 1296. Robert the Bruce was crowned king in 1306. He is famously celebrated for his victory at Bannockburn in 1314, through which he secured Scotland's independence from English rule.
